Dt5 Commercial Diving and Marine Services
As diving and marine services specialists, Dt5 Commercial is a trusted provider to the Australian defence and commercial industry sectors.
Founded in 2017, the Australian owned company has a proven history of quality service delivery in multi-faceted projects demanding advanced diving skills and related services.
Experience
Dt5 Commercial’s clients span defence, defence contractors, shipping, marine organisations, science and technology services providers, and government.
Projects range from search and recovery, laying and recovery of mine-shapes, hull inspections, cleaning and maintenance, dive training and hyperbaric chamber management.
Given the multi-faceted nature of most projects, the company employs best practices for planning, delivery and risk mitigation. This includes operating in accordance with relevant Australian and New Zealand ISO and health and safety standards.
Dt5 Commercial’s two Principals, Paul Taylor and Mark Orkney, are both former Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers, with more than 60 years combined experience in the management and delivery of marine-related services.
The Dt5 Commercial team comprises more than 20 highly experienced divers and trainers (most ex-military). The majority of the team have relevant military experience, dive certifications and security clearances.
Our Team
Paul Taylor - Principal
Paul is an experienced occupational diver with 20 years’ military experience and eight years as a company owner and manager delivering complex diving and marine services.
With proven leadership and management skills, he is an experienced business and project manager.
Prior to co-founding Dt5 Commercial in 2017, Paul worked for 17 years in the Navy including five years as the Officer in Charge of the RAN Reserve Diving team based at HMAS Penguin.
His experience also includes working as a member of the Mine Warfare Clearance Diving Sea Training Group and as a civilian working as a Divemaster and Scuba Instructor.
Mark Orkney - Principal
Mark is a highly qualified occupational diver with 40 years’ experience in military diving environments including extensive experience instructing at Australian Defence Force Diving School.
He is an experienced military diving supervisor and instructor and has more than 13 years working as a Hyperbaric Safety Director with NSW Health.
Team Qualifications
Dt5 Commercial employs more than 20 highly experienced dive team specialists. The majority of the team have relevant military experience, dive certifications and security clearances. The staff complement includes:
